RAILROADERS AT WORK . . .

In the old days it was rare indeed when a boy did not follow in his father's footsteps. Skills, like family heirlooms, were passed from father to son.

Today is more the exception than the rule. Electrician Bob Ellison exemplifies that exception as he skillfully grinds the commutator on the main generator of a big P & N diesel. His fater before him was an aramature winder for the railroad during most of his life, and his skill lives on in his son.

Craftsmen like Bob Ellison keep the railroad running day in and day out, enabling us to give the courteous, reliable freight service that has become our hallmark.
