RAILROADERS AT WORK . . .

In the old days it was rare indeed when
a boy did not follow in his father's foot-
steps. Skills, like family heirlooms, were
passed from father to son.

Today is more the exception than the
rule. Electrician Bob Ellison exemplifies that
exception as he skillfully grinds the commu-
tator on the main generator of a big P & N
diesel. His fater before him was an arama-
ture winder for the railroad during most of
his life, and his skill lives on in his son.

Craftsmen like Bob Ellison keep the rail-
road running day in and day out, enabling
us to give the courteous, reliable freight
service that has become our hallmark.
