Monday 7.30 O'Clock P.M.
Kingston, November 5th 1877

A meeting of the Council of the Corporation of the City of
Kingston was held this day. Present:

His Worship the Mayor
Aldermen
Allen, Asselstine, Campbell, Carson, Drennan
Dupuis, Gaskin, Mooers, McDermott, McIntyre,
Noble, Price, Walkem

The Clerk read the minutes of the two last meetings.

A Communication form Alderman John Hallam
Toronto was read related to exemption from Taxes.

On motion of Ald Drennan, seconded by Ald Allen
Ordered, That the Communication of the Corporation
of the City of Toronto be referred to a Joint Committee consisting
of the Finance Committee and the Court of Revision to report.

A Communication from Alfred Le Richeux was read
stating certain articles are required for the new Registry
Office.

Ald. Allen moves seconded by Ald. Gaskin.
That the Communication of Deputy Registrar in
reference to Furniture be laid on the table.

In amendment
Ald. Carson moves seconded by Ald McDermott
That the Communication of the Deputy Registrar
be referred to the Committee on City Property to report which
being put was carried and the original motion was lost.

A Communication from Alexander Adair was read
stating a Platform Scales are needed for Number one
Market - no action taken for the present.

Ald. Metcalfe here entered.

A Communication from Messrs. Fraser & George was read
respecting taxes. Referred to the Court of Revision.

A Commuication from William J. Savage was read
wishing his name on the Assessment Roll. There was no
action taken thereon.

A Communication from Horace A. Harback was read
claiming damages sustained by him ($5.00) owing to his
window being broken on the night of Phsiog: procession
Oct. 16th.

Ald Allen moves seconded by Ald. Walkem
That the Communication of Horace A Harback be
referred to the Committee on Finance to report.

In amendment
Ald Baskin moves seconded by Ald Mooers
That the Communication of Mr. Harback in reference
to compensation for broken window be laid on the table
which being put was lost and the original motion was carried.
