In motion Ald McIntyre seconded by Ald Drennan
Ordered, that the resolutions of Ald Drennan
and Gildersleeve as to the Collection of Taxes, passed at the time
the By Law was carried appointing the Collector be rescinded.

The Chairman from the Committee on Streets & Improvements
brought up a Report (Number 588, Book D) which was read
and adopted.

The Chairman from the Select Committee on salaries
brought up a Report (Number 589 Book D) which was
read and adopted.

A Report from Henry Youlden Mechanical Engineer
was read in re suction Hose Merryweather Engine

On motion of Ald Drennan seconded by Ald Allen
Ordered, That the Report of Mr Youlden Engineer
be referred to the Committee on Fire, Water and Gas with power
to act.

A Report from Patrick Devlin Chief Engineer of the
Fire Department was read respecting the procuring of two
Babcocks and the state of the Hook & Ladder Company.

On motion of Ald Drennan seconded by Ald Allen.
Ordered, That the Report of Engineer Devlin be
referred to the Committee on Fire, Water & Gas to report.

Ald Walkem introduced A By Law respecting transient traders
and certain other persons which was read a first time.

On motion the Council adjourned.
