A Communication from Edward Playter Esq MD
was read on the subject of the Sanitary Journal -
There was no action taken therein.

Aldermen Gaskin and Mooers here entered.

A Communication from S.S. Phippen Secretary P.S.B.
was read enclosing estimate of the amount of money
required by the Board of Public School Trustees of this
City for the year 1877.

On motion of Ald: McRossie seconded by Ald: Asselstine
Ordered, That the Communication of the Public
School Board be referred to the Committee on Schools.

A Communication from the City Registrar was
read stating he requires three cases to contain the plans
registered.

On motion of Ald: Drennan seconded by Ald: McIntyre
Ordered, That the communication of the City Registrar
be referred to the Committee on City Property with power
to act.

A Communication from William Buckingham, Office
of Minister of Public Works, Canada, Ottawa was read
stating that the City of Kingston will be permitted to
occupy the Battery for any purpose not necessitating the
erection of buildings therein &c

Ald: Pense here entered.

Ald: Drennan moves seconded by Ald: Dupuis
That the Communication of the Government in
reference to the Battery be referred to His Worship the
Mayor and Committee on City Property to act, for the
best interests of the City.

In amendment
Ald: Gildersleeve moves seconded by Ald: Carson
That the Communication of Wm Buckingham
be referred to His Worship the Mayor with power to act
which being put was lost Yeas 6 Nays 13 and the
original motion was carried.

A Communication from Thomas Conley was read on the
subject of a nuisance ground.

On motion of Ald: McCammon seconded by Ald: Harty
Ordered, That the Communication of the City Commissioner
be referred to the Committee on City Property with power to act.

A Communication from Messrs Britton and Price was
read stating they have been instructed by Mrs Tomkins to
state that Mr Tomkins has named George Brown as
Arbitrator to fix value of property owned by him and required
by the City in the opening of Division street south of
Earl street-

A Communication from James Agnew, City Solicitor
was read In Re Upper George street, Frontenac Ward.

On motion of Ald: Carson seconded by Ald: McRossie
Ordered
