and passed.

Yeas: Mayor Skinner, Aldn Allen, Carson, Donelly, Elliott, Kent,
Livingston, Minnes, Richardson, C. Robinson, Ryan, Stewart, Tait,
Wright - 16. Nays: none.

Ald Carson introduced "A By Law to make provisions for the watering of the
streets within certain areas in the City of Kingston and to define said areas for the year1897 which was read a first time.

The 30th Rule was suspended and the Council went into [strikethrough] the [/strikethrough] Committee of
the whole on the second reading.

Ald Livingston in the Chair
The Council resumed.

The Committee rose and the Chairman reported the second reading of the
By Law clause by clause - The Report was received.

The 30th Rule being again suspended Th By Law was read a third time
and passed.

Ald Carson introduced "A By Law to amend the By Law respecting Hawkers
and Petty Chapman which was read a first time.

The 30th Rule was suspended and the Council went into Committee of
the whole on the second reading.

The 30th Rule being again suspended the By Law was read a third time and
passed.

On Motion of Ald Livingston seconded by Ald Donnelly
Ordered That the Mayor be instructed to take over the fair grounds at once

On motion of Ald Donnelly seconded byAld Elliott
Ordered That this Council desire to again earnestly call the attention of
the Dominion Government to the urgent need of a Drill Shed in thisCity and hope
that nothing will prevent Govt from placingan amountin the supplementary
estimates and that a copy of thisresolution be sent to our City member B. Britton
with the requestthat he will bring it before the Dominion Cabinet immediately.

On Motion the Council adjourned.
