The City Solicitor was asked to give his opinion if the Council had
the power to remit certain taxes of the Kingston Foundry and Machinery
Company. After receiving his opinion the resolution being put was carried and
the Report was adopted.

On motion of Ald Livingston seconded by Ald Donnelly
Ordered That the report of the Select Committe on Municipal law be
received and that it be printed and distributed among the members of this Council
and other Municipalities.

Ald Carson introduced a By Law to amend the By Law respecting Hawkers
and Petty Chapman.

On motion of Ald Carson seconded by Ald C. Robinson
