A called meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Ohio
University, was held at its office in Ewing Hall at
Athens Ohio this day,and at the hour above named
, in pursuance of notice, in writing, given by the Secretary to
all of the members of the board that it would meet
thisday a tht hour above named to act upon the
subject of opening the bids and award a contract
for the construction and erection of the new Library
Building of the Ohio University - President Ellis in the
Chair. A call of the roll showed the following members
of the Board present to wit: Alston. Ellis President of
the Ohio University .L.M.Jewett Secretary . V.C
Lowrey. R.E. Hamblin. C. C. Davidson. A. Lene- E.J.
Jones, J.M Welch. H. W. Coultrap - I. M Foster
T. R. Biddle. and Henry. O' Bleness-
C. C. Davidson moved that we take up the
subject of awarding the contract for the erection and
construction of the new library building of the Ohio
University upon the bids here to pre filed with this
[inserted] Bids for
New
Library
Building [end inserted] Board, which motion was duly seconded ,and the
yeas and nays being demanded , a call of the roll
was had that resulted in the following vote to wit:
Yeas: Ellis. Lowrey. Jewett Hamblin - Davidson. Lene-
Jones- Welch. Coultrap- Foster- Biddle and O' Bleness
Yeas - 12 nays none - And thereupon the Chair
declared that said motion had been unanimously
adopted by the Board, and thereup the Board Carefully
examined, canvassed and considered the bids of Charles.
