that said resolutions had been unanimously adopted
by the Board,and by a legal quorum thereof. -
Mr Wood offered the following
resolution and moved its adoption:
"Resolved
[inserted] Building
Committee
Library
Building
powers
of [?+c?] [end inserted] that E. J Jones. J.M. Welch- President Ellis. H.
O' Bleness - V. C. Lowrey, and T. R. Biddle ,constitute a
building committee on behalf of the Ohio University
to [?superintend?] the construction of the Library Buildig,
the funds of which are to be donated by Mr
Andrew Carnegie, and [inserted] that they [end inserted] have full power to act
for and in behalf of this Board in all further negotiations
and contracts with the authorities of the Village
of Athens , and any other person or persons necessary
to perfect arrangements under the terms of said
donation for the erection of said building, and that
said committee shall procure plans and specifications
from competent architects for said building and
advertise according to law for bids for the construction
of said building according to plans and specifications
adopted by said committee, [inserted] which motion was duly seconded [end inserted] and the yeas and
nays being demanded a call of the roll was
had resulting in the following vote to wit: Yeas,
Ellis- Lowrey- Jewett - Hamblin- Davidson
Lene- Fenton- Jones- Welch- Wood- Whiley-
Foster - Biddle and O' Bleness, and being the
unanimous vote of all of the membersof the
Board present at this meeting, and thereupon
the Chairman declared that said resolutions
had been unanimously adopted by all of the
members of the Board present at this meeting
and by a legal quorum thereof.

of Athletic
Director [end inserted] Mr. Foster moved
that the subject of the employment of an athletic
director by referred to the Committee on Teachers
with full power and authority to act, which
motion was duly seconded and adopted.
