that the President and Trustees of said Ohio University
does hereby promise to annually furnish for the
support and maintenance of said Library Building
and its contents the sum of $2.000.00 and will
annally set aside from its income said sum
for said purpose."
Mr Jewett moved that said
resolutions be adopted which motion was duly
seconded ,and the yeas and nays being demanded
a call of the roll was had resulting in the
following vote to wit: Yeas, Ellis-Lowrey - Jeweet -
Hamblin - Davidson- Lene. Fenton- Jones Welch
Wood, Whiley- Foster - Biddle and O ' Bleness -
nays none, and being the unanimous vote of
all of the members of the Board present at this
meeting , and thereupon the Chair declared
that said resolutions had been unanimously adopted
by the Board , and by a legal quorum thereof.
Maj. Welch offered the
following resolution to wit:

Site of
Library [end inserted] "Resolved: That a
portion of the Campus of the Ohio University
to wit: In the South West part of the [inserted] Ohio [end inserted] University
grounds, be and the same is hereby , set aside and
appropriated for the purpose of a site for the Library
Building to be builded in whole or in part of the
donation of $30.000. 00 proposed to be given for such
purpose by Andrew Carnegie, and the same
shall be [?forever?] used and occupied for such purpose
so long as said Library shall exist: and moved
its adoption, which motion was duly seconded,
and the yeas and nays being demanded a call of the
roll resulted in the following vote to wit: Yeas Ellis. Lowrey
Jewett, Hamblin- Davidson, Lene, Fenton, Jones
Welch - Wood- Whiley - Foster , Biddle , and
O'Bleness - nasy none, and being the unanimous
vote of all the members of the Board present
at this meeting , and thereupon the Chair declared
