reolutions as to said Canegie donation made the
following report: to wit:
"Whereas Mr. Andrew. Carnegie
has generously offered to donate the sum of thirty thousand
dollars for the errection of a Library Building in the
Village of Athens, State of Ohio, for the joint use of the
Ohio University, and the citizens of the Village of Athens
Ohio, on the terms following [?biz?]:
First: That a suitable site for said building , with
a perfect and indefeasible title thereto shall be furnished
for said Library Building,and,:
Second: That the sum of three thousand dollars,shall
be annually provided for all time for the support and
maintenance of said Library Building,and its contents :
Said $3.000.00 to be paid, two thousand dollars by the
Ohio University , and $1.000.00 by the Board of Education
of said Village.

as to

donation [end inserted] Third: That access to, and the right to use
the books,in said Library shall always be open
to the citizens of Athens, including the pupils of the
public schools of said Village, under such reasonable
rules and regulations as may be prescribed by the
Board of Trustees of said University , and whereas the
said Board of Education of said Village has this 31st
day of December 1903 adopted by unanimous
vote of its members the following resolution:
"Resolved that this Board of
Educatioin binds itself to contribute annually one
thousand dollars toward the maintenance of the proposed
Carnegie Library to be established on the grounds of
the Ohio University, provided that teachers and
pupils of the Athens Village School district shall,
under reasonaable rule and regulations have at
all times, free use of said Library"
Now therefore Resolved
by The President and Trustees of the Ohio University
at Athens Ohio, that said offer of said Andrew
Carnegie be and the same is hereby accepted and
