ANNE,

The attached is, or may be, very important. It
is the account of D-day of a present wheel in
the Fourth Division whom I had given up for lost
(to us) long ago. As his early letter will
indicate, he is very eager to help. As his
"memoir " will indicate, he may be someone Mr.
Ryan will want to pursue further.

In any case, I think that his D-day account
is very fine—detailed but with some good
human touches, and making the point for the
battle of Utah Beach.

I have sent him a thankyou note and release.
Please see that this comes to Mr. Ryan's
attention.
