Dearest Mother,

Just a few more lines tonight to tell you that there has
been another little delay. We are not leaving until the 10th
of this month. Five whole days from now. That means that I'll
have to be pretty darn lucky to make it by the first of March
like I told you. It'll probably be a little later on in March.
Anyway its good to know that you are on your way, just the
same.

The mail is certainly awful around here. Glad I'm not
going to have to stay around here much longer if letters never
arrive. I don't think I could stand it very long without mail.
Those letters of yours and all those of my good friends that
have been coming over here to me during all the past months
have been a great help. I certainly do pity the boys over
here if the Army doesn't do something to get them their mail.

Bet you will never guess who I saw over here just the
other day?!! Harry Howard, you remember him don't you? Sure
was great to see him. He just left the states on the 16 of
January so I guess he is one of the fellows who will see a
lot of Europe before he goes back home. That makes two home
towners I've seen in the past two weeks. Mr Johnson, whose
wife works with you and now Harry.

Well, we are all ready to move out on the 10th. Our
clothes and records have all been checked and corrected. Now
we just sit and wait for the 10th of this month to roll around.
See what I mean by everything in the army is just a matter of
"rush to wait"?

I am very anxious to hear from you and to know how Tommy
is before I leave. Sure hope that he is still improving. Just
hope that mail that's being held up along the line somewhere
shows up soon. Speaking of mail, since I'm almost good as
headed home I guess it would be best that you stopped writting.
It wouldn't ever get to me until I get home anyway. I didn't
want to tell you to stop writing until I was sure I was on the
way home and it looks like a sure thing this time.

Give my love to all the folks. Tell Mama and Mac I'll be
seeing them before long, I hope. Sure will be a happy day too.
You are the only one that I've written to about leaving so I
guess it will be pretty much of a surprise to a lot of people.
Just can't seem to get enough energy to write anymore. Too
excited I guess.

Well, lots of love,
Bobby
