Dearest Mother,

Just a few lines tonight to let you know that I am
at last beginning the long journey home. We were moved
over to the battalion yesterday. Expect to stay there
a few days, possibly six, then leave for Le Harve, Fr
where we will catch the boat home. All in all you can
expect to see me about the first of March.

I mailed a large package of stuff home today. Sure
hope it gets there for it contains most of the pictures
I took over here and practically all of the negatives.
Also some books I want to keep and a set of water colors
and brushes I bought in Furth.

Sure does feel good to know that I'm at long last
on my way home. Sometimes I get so excited about it
when I think of what lies ahead that I can hardly sleep
at nights.

Really had a swell time at Garmisch this time.
Glad I had a chance to go again. We got back Tuesday
night. The trip was a long and hard one for it had
snowed and then rained and the roads were like a sheet
of glass.

Guess I'll go to the show tonight to help pass
the time away until I leave here. "State Fair" is on
and I remember you said it was a good picture.

Certainly hope Tommy is still improving. The
mail has been pretty bad lately, seems only a very
few letters are coming through. Haven't heard from
you for a week now. When I got back from Garmisch I
had a letter from Tommy, Goldie wrote it and Tommy
signed it. Sure was sweet. Give them both my love.

You can see the news isn't much now. Or maybe
the excitement of going home makes all the rest of
the news seem unimportant. I guess that's it. Give
all my love and best wishes to all the folks, with
a particular big share to my own sweet family. I'll
write as often as I can along the way. Hope to see
you soon.

Love Ya,

Bobby
