is truth? In his sermon he did not attempt
to answer this question, but gave some directions
in regard to the manner in which we should
seek for the truth. We should believe and
feel the importance of finding the truth.
We should seek for it earnestly, sincerely.
We should be ready to yield to the evidence
in favor of what is presented to us as truth [illegible]
In Sunday School we had our teacher
Mr Harding, for the last timeuntil next Spring.
He is going South for his health, to Mobile
I think. Mr Harding really seems sorry to leave
us, and we are all sorry to have him go.
We have not had a teacher for a long time
that I loved so well. however , we shall be very
glad to see him when he comes back in the
Spring, and I do hope by that time his bright
eyes will not have to shione through so poor
and pale a face.
This afternoon Mr Little preached from
the words of Paul "When I am weak, then I
am strong". It was a beautiful sermon, though
I fear if I should try I could not make a
very good account of it.
After meeting Ricker came up, and though
he only intended when he came to spend an
hour, we persuaded him to take tea with us,
