Q. At what stage of the world soul's progress, is it informed of the spirit and does that necessarily make it immortal? A. When the soul gets possession of itself the spirit enters in and if the soul consciously and willingly receives it, it is rendered immortal.

Q. What do you mean by "the soul getting possession of itself", and what is the evidence of this having occured? A. When the soul comes into its freedom and forms its own conclusions, then it is said to be worthy of this new birth it depends on the individual and there is no fixed time. To some souls the growth is so perceptible that it knows the very moment, but to the majority, the growth is slow and imperceptible.

Q. After the birth of the spirit into the soul is the soul free from all sin?

A. The soul is always free to sin, but the spirit is not stained by such sin. By the soul, I mean the soul that each child gets from its father, the human soul. Some souls commence far onward, as a reward for good lives, others far backward and have a weary path to travel over and over again.

Q. Why did Jesus weep at the death of Lazarus since he knew he would see him again soon? A. His tears were all out of symmpathy with Lazarus when he was recalled from a spiritual to an earthly state and whose life was to be full of suffering & pain.

Q. Was Lazarus in the spiritual world while his body was in the grave? A. He was there and was received there as the beloved and intimate friend of the Christ.

Q. When he came back to this life did he remember where he had been?

A. When he heard the voice of Christ he followed it, as a servant follows the voice of his lord and one look into his compassionate eyes, made all things possible to him. Remember always, the difference between us and you, is one of state, and you will seeh ow it was possible for him to forget his story in that state. I am permitted to know that his spiritual eyes were often opened, while he was in human life and he suffered all the horrors of martyrdom, with Heaven visible to him.

Q. I never before heard that he suffered martyrdom? A. He was martyred for his belief in Christ. There is no record, but it is a subject in which I was always interested, as you seem to be, and it was given me to known his second life on earth. Q. What does Paul mean in the Epistle to the Romans, Chap VIII where he speaks of "predestination" and of "God's, elect"? Q. He used the terms that I could be understood by those to whom he was writing. In fact there are no "elect" as he or the people to whom he was writing understood it, but truth comes only as the soul of humanity is ready to recieve it, and he wrote for his time.

Q. Did Paul understand that there are no elect? A. He understood many things, but as he said himself, he saw thro' a glass darkly and that was one of his most indistinct visions.

Q. In Romans VIII - 26 - is it meant that our spirits ask for things without our minds being conscious of it? A. Do you not yet understand that what each man's spirit is to him, the spirit of Christ is to all humanity,

Q. Do you know we have just heard from Courage? A. I heard thro' Endurance and as I toldyou when last you came, sheis with us now, as she was then.

Q.Will you say some last word before we part? A. Let your lives be in accord with your knowledge. Look after little things and do not forget that time is only a piece of Eternity in which you are living now and that with you, as with us, time is sensation and it meets with the will of each of you, to make each sensation a part of a happy Eternity.
