(1790 - 1873) Son of Nathaniel Stone. He is number 445 in the Simon Stone Genealogy available in Hathi Trust.

Land Owner.
Upon Nathaniel's death in 1843, the land of the Stone family homestead was divided among James and his brothers Isaac and David, with James taking the "old house" and the land between Coolidge Avenue and the Charles River. He later sold his portion of land to Isaac.
