Stone, Nathaniel

OverviewVersions

Description

(1760 - 1843) Brother of David Stone (1747-1824). He is number 188 in the Simon Stone Genealogy available in Hathi Trust.

Father of Melinda Stone. Administrator of the estate of Cornelius Stone, his son-in-law.

Land Owner.

From his father's will in 1793, he inherited an undivided half interest in the fifty-six acre paternal homestead, "the center of which was near the corner of the present Grove Street and Coolidge Avenue, and which extended east to the original Simon Stone homestead at Mount Auburn and south to the Charles River." The other undivided half was left to his brother David (1747-1824), who would later convey his half to Nathaniel, so that Nathaniel secured sole possession of the entirety of the land.

Upon Nathaniel's death in 1843, this land would be divided among his sons James Stone, David Stone, and Isaac Stone.
