If these sections could be built early next spring or summer, the work would probably be better done. After opening the windows in the present tomb a large part of the moisture disappeared, there was still however considerable left. After the tomb had been ventilated in this way for several weeks, I visited it in both dry & wet weather. In the dry weather a considerable improvement was seen, but in wet weather there was a large amount of water dripping from the arch, particularly in the vestibule.

If only the catacombs could be built during the present year, the tomb could be used, & with no metal door or tiling, ought nor [sic - not] to be a very expensive matter

Respectfully

J. W. Lovering

D Sir

I send you a report on #3021 and 2. of Sherburne.

I told Mr Snow that the lots measured to the inside of posts the correct quantity (not having the plan). I find now when I come to divide the quantities between the lots that I am mistaken, and that if the inside corners of the posts are fixed as boundaries, 23 ft more are needed to make up the required amount, which I have added as the blue line on plan will show, as I can see no objection to it and I know it to be acceptable to Mr Sherburne .

Yours truly
