On the evening of October 9, 1934,
the first regular meeting of the Elm
Street Parent-Teacher Association for
1934 - 35 school year was held in
the auditorium of the Elm Street
School. After a devotional led by Miss
Tinnin, the president, Mrs. H. I. Coffield,
extended a hearty welcome to the
parents and visitors.

A vote of thanks was accorded
Mr. Andrews and Mrs. Schroder for
their interest in the school building
shown by the physical improvements
made during the summer. Mrs.
Coffield read a toast to "the child,"
after which Mrs. Schroder outlined
the physical and educational
objectives of the association for
the year.
