"Tho you never hear her holler That she's a very learned scholar That she's a graduate of a college with degrees. There are times when I just know it When she mentions some poor poet Of a man whose name I couldn't even sneeze.

Tho she's tiny and she's small And she isn't very tall, If I'd stopped to measure qualities She's the biggest of them all.

As she's gracious she is charming See her coming down the aisle Just to see her smiling countenance I'd even walk a mile.

Tho my meters aren't perfect 'Cause as a poet I don't shine Best of health and luck dear Doctor These sentiments are mine."

As the first pussy willows like demure little cats with soft gray fur, tell us springtime is near; or as the first bird song trilling from out a pastel feathered throat brings new joy to out hearts; so does this lady inspire us to greater things with her versatile mind ever alert to the business of living. That is the greatest inborn gift that one could have, an intense interest in life from the small apparently insignificant things to the great powerful, important ones.

Such culture, refinement and ambition in one small person seems almost unbelievable, but we who are privileged to know her have found that it is so and with what energy she generously bestows it on all of us.

Now we can never attain the heights as she has done, but we can show our gratitude and appreciation by co-operating and helping in whatever way possible to make Framingham the sort of an institution that she would like it to be and when we go out in the world, not forget to be a credit to this grand person, Dr. Van Waters.
