Fort Worth, Texas, March 2nd 1905.

The Hon. Mayor and City Council,

Gentlemen:-

Herewith beg to hand you statement of Messers Sanguinet & Staats, Architects, showing an extra expenditure in putting in foundation for building now being erected corner of 7th and Throckmorton Street, of $362.36. This was caused by the fact that 95 feet of the city's sewer was laid directly on property line instead of middle of alley as shwon by the plat in office of City Engineer. The same was removed to middle of alley, at the same time having to put in foundation on solid rock at bottom of sewer, as was not the case with with other foundation the extra foundation and brick work was necessary and I ask that your honorable body refund me the amount of statement of architects.

Respectfully, T. B. Ellison

FORT WORTH OFFICE HOXIE BUILDING. DALLAS, TEXAS.

Job 370 Ft Worth,Texas Feb 4th,1905

Mr. T. B. Ellison City

Dear sir;- In re-extra work, on foundation of your building, on 7th & Throckmorton sts., Ft Worth,Texas occasioned by the fact that we had to go 5' 6" deeper on alley side, than we would have had to go if we had been able to lay foundation on first hard strats of work rock, (same as we did with balance of foundation) which we could not do, for reason that the City sewer lay under the line 95 feet East of building on Throckmorton st, necessitating our going to solid rock, at bottom of sewer, the following extra foundation and brickwork was necessary, viz:

96 feet, 5'6" deep, 3' 6" wide, = 66-1/3 yards, @ 50¢ 33.16
92 ft. brick walk, 1' 9" wide 5'6" deep )
15 ft. " " 1' 1" " 5' 6" " ) 21940 brick, 15.00 329.20
3 ft. " " 3' 0" " 5' 6" " )
Total $362.36
This is a statement of amount of extra you will have to allow the contractors on account of this extra work, and is figured accurately by us, after taking actual measurements when foundation was dug out, and we are today issuing order to contractors, allowing them this amount extra, added to their contract price.
