Wednesday Nov 27th Comes in with a suden [SUDDEN] change of wind from the Southward attended with rain. Hove too [TO] with a close reefed main top sail. Latter part light winds from the Northward. Employed repairing sails. Latt [LATITUDE] Obs [OBSERVATION] 35=19" South Long [LONGITUDE] by Chro. [CHRONOMETER] 157°=39" West

Thursday Nov 28th Comes in light winds from the Northward, freshening gradually. Steer S by E. Latter part strong gales. Latt [LATITUDE] Obs [OBSERVATION] 37°-19" South Long [LONGITUDE] by Acct [ACCOUNT] 157°=40"

Friday Nov. 28th Comes in with strong gales and thick weather. Wind from NNW. Steer South. At 11 PM furled the fore top sail. Latter part moderating. Made all sail. So ends. At Meridian saw the first Right whale going fast to SSE. Lowered and chaced [CHASED] till [UNTIL] 2 PM but could not strike. Came on board and steer SSE. Wind light from SSW. At sunset saw two Right whales lieing [LYING] still. Take in sail with hopes of seeing them or some others in the morning. Thus ends the day.
