Sunday Sept 28 Fresh breezes. Made land at 4 AM. Island off [OF] Woahoo [OAHU] bearing South by W distance 7 miles. Tacking ship as required. So ends this day. Latt [LATITUDE] 21..35.. North Long [LONGITUDE] of Woahoo 157..58
Monday Sept 29th All of this day we have fresh gales from the Eastward. Employed at beating up against the trades for the Isle of Maui. Latt [LATITUDE] Obs [OBSERVATION] 21°=35" N Long [LONGITUDE] by Chronometer when 30 miles East of Woahoo [OAHU] 156° 03". True Long [LONGITUDE] of ship 157°=20". Error of Chro. [CHRONOMETER] 1..17
Tuesday Sep 30th Comes in with strong gales from the Eastward. beating up for Maui. At Meridian passed the East end of Morotoi [MOLOKA'I] and entered the passage. So ends.
Wednesday [Sept CROSSED OUT] Oct 1rst 1845 Comes in with strong gales from the Eastward. At 6 PM came to anchor in 15 fathoms water in the port Lahaiena [LAHAINA].
Thursday Oct 2nd Begins with fine weather. Ship laying [LYING] at anchor. One watch on shore on liberty. Other watch employed in ships duty. So ends.
