Monday Sept 28th 1835 [A PEN & INK DRAWING OF A WHALE'S TAIL IN THE LEFT MARGIN] Commences with fresh breezes from the Southward Steering by the wind to the Westward At 2 A.M saw two Right whales Lowered Struck one Run bad and in spading the whale cut off the line. At 3 do. [DITTO = A.M.] struck another and took the line. At 8 do. [DITTO = A.M.] struck again and killed Took him alongside and cut him in So ends employed in boiling. 1 man off duty Longitude by Acc [ACCOUNT] 76..50 West Lattitude [LATITUDE] by Obs [OBSERVATION] 41..17 South.

Tuesday Sept 29th 1835 Commences with moderate breezes from the NE and fair weather Steering by the wind to the Westward At Meridian steered off SE. by S. At 2 A.M saw whales Lowered Struck two The irons drew Struck again at sunset Run bad and at dark cut from him Lost 2 irons 1 spade. Latter hours the wind hauled to the Southward, So ends employed in boiling. Water green. Longitude by Chronometer 76..18 West. Lattitude [LATITUDE] by Obs. [OBSERVATION] 41..27.

Wednesday Sept 30th 1835 [A PEN & INK DRAWING OF THE LOWER HALF OF A WHALE IN THE LEFT MARGIN] All of these 24 hours fresh breezes from the Southward and clear Steering by the wind to the N. & W. Found the water blue water. At 8 P.M. tacked ship to the S. & W At 3 A.M raised whale whales on green water At 4 do. [DITTO = A.M.] lowered Struck one Took him alongside and lay by him through the night At 9 do. [DITTO = A.M.] finished boiling One ship in sight So ends Longitude by Chronometer 75..52 W. Thursday Oct. 1th [1ST] 1835 Commences with fresh gales from the SE and clear Heading to the Eastward. At 6 P.M. wore ship and commenced cutting our whale to the leeward. At 10 do. [DITTO = P.M.] spoke ship Experience of Havre 300 bbls of Sperm oil. At Meridian spoke finished cutting and commenced boiling. Middle & latter hours fresh gales The wind hauling to the Southward So ends this day. 2 men off duty. Longitude by Acc [ACCOUNT] 75.40 West Lattitude [LATITUDE] by Obs. [OBSERVATION] 41..27 South

Friday Oct 2th [2ND] 1835 All of these 24 hours fresh gales from the Southward and cloudy Steering by the wind to the Eastward At Meridian tacked ship to the West Saw not the spout of a whale this day. So ends employed in boiling 2 men off duty. Longitude by Chronometer 75..32 West Lattitude [LATITUDE] by Obs. [OBSERVATION] 41..07.

Saturday Oct 3dth 1835 Commences with fresh gales from the Southward Steering by the wind to the Eastward At 2 P.M. tacked ship to West Middle & latter hours the wind hauling to the Westward Tacked ship to the Southward This day stowed down [...] bbls of whale oil and 11 hogsheads of head oil and 3 hogsheads of body on the starboard the Fore Hatch aft. Saw no whales this day. So ends this day. 2 men off duty. Longitude by Acc [ACCOUNT] 75.40 West. Lattitude [LATITUDE] by Obs. [OBSERVATION] 41.00 South

Sunday Oct 4th 1835 Throught [THROUGHOUT] these 24 hours strong gales from the Southward and clear [...] to under a close reefed Main Top sail & Fore sail Heading to the West untill [UNTIL] Meridian Tacked ship to the NE This day stowed down [...] bbls of whale oil and 16 hogsheads of Sperm Likewise 5 of the round[?] tier[?] on the starboard larboard[?] side of the Fore Hatch aft. So ends this day 5 men off duty. Longitude by Chronometer 75 45 West Lattitude [LATITUDE] by Obs. [OBSERVATION] 40,58.

Monday Oct. 5th 1835 All of these 24 hours strong gales from the Southward and clear Lying to under close [REEFED?] Main Top sails & Fore sail Heading to the Eastward Latter hours tacked ship to the Westward. Hands employed in fitting new cutting guys of lanyard stuff and over Hauling [OVERHAULING] potatoes. So ends this day. 4 men off duty.
