per compass with all sail set.
Larboards watch employed setting
the lore [lower?] top mast rigging. Middle
and latter part strong gales SSW.
Steering SE by the wind carryed [carried]
all prudent sail sent down.
Green water [written in margin] Our main royal yard and top
gallant steering sail boom. At 10 oclok [o'clock] AM green water. Hands
employed making [bungs?]. So remains.

64 Sunday the 28th
Began with strong wind SSW.
Ship under double reefed top
sails. Steering Sth E by the wind.
Middle calm with the exiettion [exception?]
of a few squalls. Latter part
fresh breezes from the Nth W
and dark weather. Steering
SSW. At 10 AM unreeved [unreefed?] our
lore [lower?] steering sail geer [gear?] and
stowed the boom. Latter part
fin backs and hump backs likewise
oceanic birds were numerous
but no whales. The day being the Sabbath no labour
done more than neccessity
required. So remains. [no?] Obs
