Sea account at 2 hours passed the meridean got under way in Gardners bay an put to sea with light breeze from the S ward the mazins about 5 miles ahead. [cartiote?] master at Sun Set the light House on - Montalk bore W by S distance 12 miles middle and latter part light bassking lins Ship under all Sail Steering different courses by the wind Saw a number of Fishing Vessels but talked with none. People Employed in Sundry Jobs of Ships duty So Goes Lat obs 40 : 59 Long 11-00

Friday 21th Sea Account

At non the SW part of Block Island bore us W by W distance 40 miles from which I Shall tak my departure for the next land at 1 [clock?] Spoke with the Marius & Gam with her steering by the wind to the leward at 6 oC No wind SE tacked Ship and Steered to the west ward by the wind the Mazins in Company middle part fresh Gales with hard rain at 10 O clok rested Top Sails latter part weather more moderate Ship under all sail. Saw a brig Standing to the to the S W ward by the wind at 10 A M unbent the Rains and and Stowed the anchors.
