1945 30 Days JUNE

7 Th Very warm day. Discussed school affairs in current events. Spent all free lessons looking for a poem in library. Started disecting frogs in biology. Had VIth form photo taken after school. Drove tractor for Gordon in evening. L.

8 Fri Very windy day. Have got some time off to work on land. Cleared Janet's bedroom in morning and picked some strawberries. Drove tractor for Gordon in afternoon and in evening. Washed my hair later in evening. Q. late to bed. L.

9 Sat Very windy day. Helped Mummy all the morning. Did potatoes and picked several pounds of strawberries. Had a bath and a practise in afternoon. Went for a long walk with Gordon in evening. Janet went to sick bay and came home very late.

Wed. cont. Len Hill took B. class. Leslie, Padre, Bert, Godon, Geo. Phang, Bunty. L. Gordon came to stay with us for week.

JUNE 6th Month 1945

10 Sun--2nd after Trinity Showery day. New Moon 4.26 a.m. Did not go to S. School in morning. Gordon took me to camp church in morning. Went to S. School in afternoon. Padre, Geo. Phang & Bill came to tea. Went to chapel in evening. Betty came too. Lots of L. of G.

11 Mon--St. Barnabas. George Phang's birthday. Close day. Went to school. Disected frog in biology. Copied scripture notes in free lesson. Had notes in history. Cleaned pottery room in dinner hour. Drew animals in art. Had quite nice music lesson. Gordon took me to pictures to see Rebecca. G put his a r me.

12 Tues Cloudy day. Helped Mummy in morning, went to Sutton & did errands and picked strawberries with Gordon in morning. Had a big wash up in afternoon. Picked a few strawberries in evening. Heavy thunder shower. Helped Gordon pack.

Quite nice day. Helped Mummy in 13 Wed morning. Gordon & she did washing. I pegged out. Drove the tractor for Gordon in afternoon. Went to bible class on station in evening. Bruce took it. Joan, Judy, Molly, Bunty

14 Th Gordon left us - posted to Brighton. Everyone very sad. Had all free lessons except French & Biology. Drew alimentary canal of frog. Watched a practise, copied some history notes and drove tractor in evening. Judy came to supper.

15 Fri Quite nice day, but windy. Helped Mummy in morning - cleaned Janets & my bedroom in morning. Had a practise and picked strawberries in afternoon. Drove tractor in evening. Uncle Reg Auntie Dorothy & family came over. Judy and Betty came to supper.

16 Sat Quite nice day. Cleaned bathroom in morning and went to Sutton and did errands. Had a practise and picked strawberries in afternoon. Eric came to tea. Ted & Judy came in the evening. Had a bath and went to bed before supper.

Wed. Geo. Phang, Leslie, Padre, Mr Cottam, Gordon & Mummy & Daddy were there. Went to bed very late.

JUNE 6th Month 1945

17 Sun--3rd after Trinity St. Alban Moon's first quarter 2.5 p.m. Lovely day. Went to S. School in morning and taught primary. Went to S. School again in afternoon. We all went to Wardy Hill [] & took Geo. Phang & Eric with us. It was their anniversary.

* 18 Mon Lovely day, disected frog in biology. Had free lesson instead of French. Notes in history. Watched Betty Drake's wedding in dinner hour. Didn't do much in art. Couldn't get the time right in music lesson. Cut flowers & drove tractor in evening.

19 Tues Very hot day. Helped Mummy in the morning and picked some strawberries. Had a practise and picked strawberries in afternoon. Sunbathed after tea. Bill came in. Drove the tractor for Daddy. Betty came in for a short time.

20 Wed Quite a windy day with showers. Had a letter from Gordon. The AOC came & inspected the camp. Very busy ironing all the morning. A Waaf Marie helped pick strawberries all day. Geo. Phang came to dinner. Mowed lawn in afternoon. Had a practise and wrote to Gordon.

Nice day but rained in afternoon 21 Th-Summer Solstice Longest Day Discussed politics in current event. Copied history notes in free lessons. Did some more dissection of frog in biology. Eric came to tea. Had a practice and drove the tractor in evening.

22 Fri Lovely day. Judy came & spent the day with us. Picked strawberries in the morning & afternoon. cleaned my bedroom. Had a practise in evening. Uncle Ewet & his sister in Law's 3 boy came over Don John & Michael Delaney. Had some music.

23 Sat Quite a nice day. Helped Mummy all the morning. Cleaned up & did the vegetables. Had a practise and drove the tractor all the afternoon Had a bath and washed my hair in evening. Did some biology revision. Uncle Dick came to see us in evening. Judy came to supper.
