to Dentist's in morning. I stayed at home
and did work. Varnished lounge floor
and hall. Read in afternoon and
evening.

Rather cold day. Helped Mummy
in the morning and then got changed.
Did a little revision in the afternoon
and then went and watched the fire at
the Chestnuts. About 6 fire engines came
and got it under control. Drove tractor
in evening.

Quite a nice day.
Had a letter from Betty. Helped Mummy
in morning and mowed lawn.
Drove the tractor in afternoon and
evening. Had a bath before I went to bed.

In a nursery seed-bed sow Kales and Sprouting Broccoli.
When soil conditions are favourable, every opportunity
from now onwards should be taken to hoe frequently
between the rows of growing crops.
