A cloudy day. Ben & Jim stripped tobacco all day. Finished a cureing for Jim. Josie and I got dinner.

This evening Josie made starch and starched the clothes. Denia and Cordie Blair come this evening. I was glad that they come.

Marvin solde his last tobacco at Gretna. He was well pleased with the sale. Nat Wooding got two pounds of butter from here this evening.

A good day. Oh how we need rain. We all staid at home. Lizzie Bennett and little Cary Jefferson was with us today.

Earl Bennett come for them tonight. They have not bin gone but a few minutes. Hope that they will get home safe. Carrie & her family come a while this evening. I am always glad for them to come.

Jim went to Mr Edmons barn when he was cureing tobacco this evening. I know that Jim is lonesome some times.

Julia Fergerson went to Portsmoth today. I know her mother will miss her.

A clear day. Jim has worked on his tobacco all day trying to get it to yellow.

Ben went to Jim Powers this morning and brought Fletcher Car and family up here. He has 6 children. We have not bin lonesome today. This evening Nellie and Evylin come. I was glad that they come.

Carley[?] Harvey & Virginia Moses was married this morning at Gretna. Reese Smith carried Kate & Virginia Harvey to Gretna. Marvin and some others met at Richard Woodings and cut some tobacco for him. Ben & Henry helped some.

I am going to sleep in the hall to night.

A cloudy day. No rain today. The land is good we for the first time in a bout five months.

The boys stripped tobacco. They finished a cureing for Jim.

Ben has bin complaining all day of head ache.

Marvin went to Gretna with tobacco. It solde very well. The children went to school. I killed and dressed an opossome. The first one that I ever killed.

Josie helped move a cureing of tobacco. Mrs Car shelled peas. We sent to Otho Blairs and got two pounds of butter. Paid 35 cts a pound. That is the first that we have bought this year.

This writing was done at three oclock Nov the 2nd. I forgot to write last night.

A beautiful day. Jim and Ben finished stripping their curing and loaded the wagon ready to start to Gretna in the morning.

I was mending Henrys coat this morning when Jim come to the house and said that Johnson and Mollie was going to [John?] Craddocks and that I could go with them. I got a snack to eat and got Mabel and my self ready. Ben carried us to Reynolds?]. Johnson went with us. We got some honey and got home by dark.
