To the Honorable Mayor and Council of the City

Gentlemen: Trinity Church corporation owning the four lots on the west side of Eighth Street between James and Cherry, respectfully presents this protest to the building of a bridge in front of said lots, and also to any change of grade injurious to said property. These lots were bought with the intention of building upon them a large and fine stone or brick church, costing more money than any like structure in the city.

A bridge which at all times would be dirty, unsightly and disagreeable, a sore, festering spot to the entire neighborhood, narrowing the street and increasing the insurance, would materially lessen the value of the lots, and would be of untold injury to the church contemplated.

We therefore request that you refrain from changing the grade and from building the bridge referred to
