east of that.

The gravelly hill at (c) I had at first expected to save for picturesque effect; but on further consideration, I think it will be necessary to take away the Northern end of it to get gravel for the Avenues or the Stone Farm; and I am not sure but the general effect will be better than now.

The point of entrance to the Stone Farm are pretty much entirely fixed now, by the sale of lots along Magnolia Ave, blocking up all but a few points.

Mr. A.B. Gookin, 370 Commercial Street Boston

Dear Sir,

We have examine your Lot #2559 Magnolia Ave, and find that there are two graves in the back of the Lot which need resodding, the rest of the sod can be put in order by top dressing, The repairs including topdressing for the whol Lot will cost about $30.00.

Please let me know if you wish all or any part of the above work to be done. The tree which was removed from your Lot was only cut down after it had become completely dead.

Respectfully James W. Lovering Supt. J.E.C.

Miss Fay

Mr McDonald let'd me it will not be well to place the stones as you requested, as then will not be room to place all them at the foot of the graves

Perhaps therefore you will have them all placed at the heads of the graves, at A.B. & C instead of the other end as you designated.

Please let me hear & oblige

S.T. Snow Esq

Dear Sir

Mr. A.J. Coolidge called yesterday to say that ifs he had heard nothing from the Trustees in regard to his application to place signs of "For Sale" &c on lots, he had placed several in the lots, and notified the Trustees of the matter.

If you wish me to take any step in the matter, will you please to notify me to that effect.

Respectfully J.W. Lovering

33 School St Boston,

Messrs Shedd & Edson

Gentlemen,

I have searched for a little plan of Mr Colburn's lot without success - but find that the lot was reported as containing 792 square feet - dimensions 24f x 33 f. the longest way southward & northward. - Please plot the same as suggested by you so as to bring it within five feet respectively of Eagle Ave. and Raven Path: and so as to show how the land to the northward between it and Magnolia Ave. lies, or will cut at.

Also please make duplicate of plan for Wm. Appleton Esq. as requested.

Truly yours

A.J. Coolidge Sec.y

Boston

Dear Sir,

Mr Shedd has mislaid the office plan of your lots - but will no doubt find it.

Meantime, if you will loan me yours, I will endeavor to push your business respecting the lots forward one stage at least.

I have requested him to make the duplicate plan for our portfolio as you state you had ordered - but which they appear to have overlooked.

Very respectfully yours

A.J. Coolidge Sec.y

To Wm Appleton Esqr

Capt. D.L. Winsor,

Dear Sir,

Mr Wm M. Lathrop called in this P.M. and says he thinks he gave you an order for both posting & grading lots 3363 & 3364, Acanthus P. rear of 1833 & 1856. He talked over the size of the posts, & thinks he signed his name to the order book. -- If he is in error, please inform me, and I will have him give the proper order. -- He would like to have the grading done this season, if not too late: at all events, set the posts.

As it will probably be a day or two before the surveyors get out to you, I think it will be well for you to set as many of the posts to the lots of delinquent proprietors as possible: -- and their survey would then be the more complete. I subjoin a list of ^all the earlier lots contained on the list shown you, remaining without bounds. --
