1868-03-10 Story Statue: Report of Committee on Lots on Fund for repair of Story Lot & Story Statue Fund (page 1)

At the last meeting of the Trustees, the Committee on Lots were instructed to direct the Treasurer how to charge the Bills paid in 1864, for the improvement of the Lot of the late Judge ^Story and to ascertain if in any way, the Balance of the "Fund for the Story Statue" can be appropriated thereto. The Committee ask leave to Report: as regards the payments of the Bills in 1844, they refund the Treasurer to the Records of the Corporation ^where under date of he was directed to pay said Bills.

As regards the "Story Statue fund" the Treasurer stated that he has had for past ten years, a Balance ^ to the credit of that account, upon the Books of the Corporation of $990.97 and that no interest has been credited to the account during that time.

From documents furnished by the Secretary, the Committee find that in 1854 the surviving Subscribers to the fund, petitioned the Trustees to have the Statue placed in the Chapel, which petition, was referred to a Committee, who reported, that they had caused the statue to be so placed. There appears no further record of any action upon the subject.
