McLean Hospital C O P Y

June 7th, 1951

Dear Mrs. Wellsman:

You will notice of course the paper I am writing on. I have been here going on to a year now as nurses aide. Margaret Newton was here for a while. Hope she is not back with you. She certainly had her troubles.

I just love it here as I find the work helps me personally. Do some relieving at Codman & Appleton which makes it more interesting and breaks up the steady routine here at Wyman

This time of year it sure is beautiful up on this hill, altho in the winter coming up at six thirty a.m. in the snow is rather tough.

Think of you often and will never forget how kind you were to me. Mrs Wilson is here altho she is thinking of leaving as her feet trouble her.

Sorry to say I still get the headaches so will have to let Mother Nature take her time about discontinuing them.

I suppose by now you have your hospital right up to snuff. Wonder if you have any more grandchildren. Think of Miss Kilburn and hope she is married as she loves to cook and keep house. Give her my regards.

I see all my family and my girls are happily married and very comfortable.

I wish you would drop in to see me in your travels. Miss Connor employed me and I think she is just the grandest person I know. It is a pleasure to work here everyone is so congenial.

Give Dr. Van Waters my regards and tell her I haven't forgotten the services in the little Chapel. I go to St James Church at Porter Square. Cambridge. Dr Daniels is a fine Minister.

Alma Bourbeau I hope is well. Remember me to all I know, Miss Hinkley, Miss Nelson, etc. If you can drop me a line here at the hospital.

I meet a girl once in a while and they are getting along fine. We all admit you people helped us to help ourselves. Suppose you will be going on your vacation and no doubt you need a rest.

I saw in the Globe editorial the other day a (crack) about the girls being sent out with only three dollars. I thought they got day work back. Heaven knows Dr. Van Waters trys hard enough.

Let me hear from you sometime.

Yours truly,

Lillian Rivers
