So to tell you the truth Im really nothing I have never did anything real bad. I only have a bad institution record, and most of that is foolishness, like yelling, swearing at officers and making noise, but I Have one assault on an officer in 1960 which I received a 2 to 2 1/2 years for it. I paid and the escape at Concord Farm which I am now paying for it, the rest of my record here is for foolishness baby things, but my record here the past 2 years is very good. I did time on the boards just once in the past 2 years, one for a screwdriver I beated that, one for going in another mans cell with permission from the man, one for yelling, one for a fight, and the last one for passing a look, so before them 2 years I have been punched about 2 or 3 times a month I was always in trouble, so you can see the change in me from them.

Now in the plant where I use to get into most of my trouble, most of my punches are or were in the plant, since Ive been in the plant now since Aug of last year I have only one punch passing a look. now I never use to take orders easy, but now I can take an order; I use to curse when I was told to shut up by an officer, now when Im told I shut right up. I have better control over my temper these past 2 years. Maybe Ive woke up I dont know or maybe Ive grown a little, but I put the cange all in your favor, its been since I met you and your advice has done it, for I never use to take any advice before, not even from my family, now I listen to people when Im doing wrong. I even listen to officers when they give me advice, so if I listen to them I must be changing by the better , also as I said its all you doing for I laid here thinking from before

Also sorry about your hip. I guess we all make mistake, and then its to late to correct them, but you learn by them.

Also thanks for the money and Ill be seeing Father Foley and Ill give him your regards. As I told you before when I saw the parole board last may, they said I had to many punches, for I just got done having a fight with another inmate and I hit an officer by mistake about 2 months before I saw the board and they said they couldnt give me a parole Dr Mc Cormick I think it was him said that if I came back next year with a cleaner record no punches then we'll talk business about a parole and chance. Well I had one punch this year for passing a look and that will not be helful against me, as for being in 10 block I was told by some inmates that I will not get a parole by being in 10, and some inmates said that I will for I am not in here for punishment but to stay out of trouble. The Commissioner also

Dear Friend

I received your nice letter today and was very glad to hear from you, and you understood what I meant about SDG, for they are doing a wondeful job for released men. I hope they'll be able to give me some help. I was a fool to think different of them. I guess you understand.

I was out walking this morning with an officer from Framingham, he has seen you many time, he has heard you giving talks he has great respect for you, he have never talked with you, but he know a lot about you, so we got to talking about my parole and how short Im getting to May, and he knew about you getting me my employment and going to the parole board in my behalf. I also told him about what the Asst Commissioner Mr O Shea is going to do for me at my parole
