The following preamble and votes submitted by Mr Norcross were adopted; _
Future improvement & grading of unsaleable lands to be authorized by Trustees _
"Whereas, By the Indenture between this Corporation and the Massachusetts Horticultural Society, dated , as also by the modification of said Indenture dated , it is mutually agreed that this Corporation may improve, grade and render saleable any portion of the grounds which are now or may become unfit for burial purposes, charging annually to the Horticultural Society their proportion of the cost of the same,

Whereas It is for the interest and future good understanding of the parties that sell such improvements and grading should be authorized by this Board, it is

Contracts for Perpetl Repair _
The Committee on Lots reported that they^had contracted for the Perpetual Repair of lots as follows: _
1484 With Henry A Whitney for lot numbered 1484, owned by the heirs of Mary Pratt, deceased, for four hundred and fifty dollars: _
904 1309. With Dr. Wm R. Lawrence for lots numbered 904 and 1309 owned by him, for five hundred and fifty dollars: _
693 With the Executors of Nabby Joy, for lot numbered 693 belonging to her estate, for five hundred dollars: _
3356 With the Executors of John T. Kelley, for lot numbered 3356 belonging to his estate, for six hundred and seventy five dollars: _

And it was
Voted that the said contracts be severally ratified. _

A bill of A. J. Coolidge for $45.00 for examining titles of estates purchased by the heirs of C. Stone, and of E. & M. Wyeth, was referred to the Finance Comee with full power.

Fixing of Salaries deferred
Voted, – that the fixing of salaries be also postponed to the next Meeting.
On motion of Dr. Bigelow it was
Land West of Cemetery. Com appointed to consider use & appropriation of
Voted, – that a Committee of three be appointed to consider what action may be necessary or expedient in regard to the use and appropriation of the lately purchased land West of the Cemetery.
The President appointed Messrs Bigelow, Livermore and Lawrence to constitute said Committee.
On motion of Mr Little it was
Voted, – that the President be added to the above Committee
Permanent Fund, Saleable land, By-Law revisions; subjects referred at Last Trustees Meeting
The Secretary called the attention of the Board to the subjects referred to its consideration at the last meeting of the Trustees, viz: the Communications of the Superintendent in regard to the increase of the Permanent Fund, and to computing the percentage of saleable land in the Cemetery. Also the subject of a revision of the By Laws. On motion it was

Voted, – that the foregoing subject to be laid upon the table.
Geo. G. Spear recommended as Gate Keeper
A communication for the Superintendent recommending the appointment of Mr. George G. Spear to the office of Gate Keeper – the said communication being accompanied with numerous testimonials in favor of Mr Spear, were also laid before the Board by the Secretary, and it was
