Enclosed please find the application of Messrs J.G. Coolidge and James Brown, both wishing to hire the "Stone Meadow" for the year.

The terms to which Mr Brown offers are $25.00 for the pasturing season, to be paid in manure.

that they had received a communication from Mr Joseph G. Coolidge complaining of the manner in which the City of Cambridge had graded said Avenue in front of his premises.

Treasr authorized to pay $250 for same, upon receiv.g bond of indemnity _

Upon motion of Mr Rand

Voted. That the Treasurer be authorized to pay $250 ~ to the City of Cambridge for the improvements made upon Coolidge Avenue, upon receiving from said City a sufficient bond of indemnity against any claim for damages by the abutters or satisfactory release from said abutters.

Sale of strip of Stone Meadow to City of Camb.

The Committee on Grounds submitted a proposition from the mayor of Cambridge asking speedy action in regard to selling the said City a strip of land next to the Cambridge Cemetery; which was referred back to said Committee with full power.

Appropriation for shrubs & plants _

Upon motion of Mr Rand

Voted. That a sum not exceeding five hundred dollars be expended at the discretion of the Committee on grounds, in the purchase shrubs and plants for the cemetery.

Trustees . Comn from C. U. Cotting resp'y Mrs. Bournes' Lot.

A communication from Mr. Charles U. Cotting, dated , continuing his "application for a part of the Lot now occupied by the partially constructed Receiving Tomb, to add to Mrs. Bournes' Lot adjoining," was read by the Secretary.

Voted. – that said communication be referred to the committee on Grounds.

Repairs of Coolidge Avenue

A communiction from Mr. Joseph G. Coolidge, dated , in regard to the condition of Coolidge Avenue, and requesting that the Board would appoint a Committee to arrange with him the terms on which he shall put his premises in good condition, and that he shall be reimbursed from the sum of $250. – which the Treasurer was authorized to pay to the City of Cambridge for the improvement made upon said Avenue, – was read by the Secretary:

Voted, – that said Communication be laid upon the table.

List of Neglected Lots Notice to Proprietors

A "List of neglected Lots reported under Article 29 of the By=Laws," dated. The List comprised more than 100 Lots and was read by its title only. Accompanying the List was a proposed form of notification to be sent in the name of the Superintendent to each proprietor. After consideration it was

Voted, – that the above communication be referred to the Committee on Grounds with full powers.

Henry Blaney & Ezra Trull. Rep. on Tombs of

A communiction in relation to repairs on the Tomb of the late Ezra Trull and Henry Blaney on Hazel Dell Path

A communicaton from Mr. Joseph G. Coolidge, and one from Mr H. W. Muzzey both dated , alleging certain facts in regard to the condition of Coolidge Avenue, and founding certain claims thereupon were read and considered, and it was

Voted, – that the foregoing communications be referred to a Special Committee consisting of the President and Mr Choate to consider and report.

Request to purchase land by J. G. Coolidge ref. to Com. on Grounds.

An application to purchase a small strip of land from the Stone Meadow was received from Mr Jos. G. Coolidge under date of .

Voted, – that the application be referred to the Committee on Grounds to consider and report.

On the statement made by Mr Turner that we had been requested by Dr. Brewer now absent from the City, to bring to the notice of the Board the expediency of appointing a Committee on the Birds of the Cemetery, it was

Voted, – that Dr. Brewer and Mr Turner be appointed to constitute such Committee.

Mr. Turner having requested to be excused from serving, Mr Little was appointed in his place.

Proposed new access to Cemetery from Watertown Br. R. R.

A verbal communication was addressed to the Board by Mr Lawrence stating that Mr Stearns, President of the Fitchburg Railroad Co. had suggested to him that the Railroad Company would readily negotiate for the sale of the Proprietors of Mr Auburn of a small parcel of land adjoining their lately acquired premises West of the Cemetery, and for the opening of a gate affording passengers by the cars a
