A.A. Barker Esq

Dear Sir

I have notified Mr. Ross to deliver us no more sods either of Couch Grass or Goose Grass. I want you to make the Foreman of the Sodding [gauy?] understand that if bad sods are delivered he is not to use them, but to place them on the avenue & notify me. I shall hold him personally responsible for using no sods which ought not to be used

Yours truly J.W. Lovering

Robt Ross Esq

Dear Sir

Do not deliver us any more sods with either Couch or ^Goose Grass in them. They will not answer for us I am satisfied & I have directed Mr Barker to have no more put down.

I want a good pasture sod, if you can get it, if not, please see me before you deliver any more.

Respectfuly J.W. Lovering Supt
