1, Mr.H. Quarles sent for a Midlingof old bacon, which sent him by negro, weighing 14 1/2 pounds- Snow and cold, though it snowed till evening, not above half inch deep- Sent to Mill- J.Taylor, J.Pendleton & T Barbour here.
2, [Sunday] G.Taylor set off to go to H'd Taylor's but met him going to the Doctors & came back & went there, as I did, to dinner-J.Taylor went there after dinner & said J.Pendleton's wife had a Daughter born last night.

3, J.Taylor went by here on his way to Spotsylvania Court & Fredericksburg. G.Taylor sent George with J.T's X cut saw to shop. I wrote for 1/2 doz deep plates which Maj'r Lee sent- I went with G.Taylor & dined at H.Taylor's, Reu Taylor there. Snowed about 3 o'clock & very fast till night
4, Left off snowing little after sunrise, ab't 10 inches deep, the deepest we have seen this winter. Negro Milly had Granny Venus with her last night, but not delivered this morning. Milley delivered of a boy afternoon. Flying Clouds, very cold & windy from morning. G.Taylor went by from Maj'r Moore's, who had a negro man, Caesar, died to day.
5, Clear and cold. Warmer in evening, though windy- C.Taylor dined here, after dinner he & my father went to Hub Taylor's- his waggon not come up.
6, Weather clear & windy, but not very cold. G.Taylor went to H.Taylors- his waggon got home. I received Letters from bror's Richard & Benjamin. My father sent George for some French Brandy. B.Taylor's letter ment'd 3 gallons but measured only 2, 5/8 Gallons including a Quart pd by H.Taylor for Rum lent- George also brought a Keg 5 Gallons F.Brandy for C.Taylor & car'd it home. C.Dickinson was here, wants money by Court- S.Mozingo was here & said sh'd work at J.Taylor's tomorrow. C.Taylor ret'd 1 doz candles & Soap bor'd last Fall-
7, G.Taylor went to J.Taylors to dinner. J.T. got home from Fred'g to-day. I being unwell did not go from home. Weather mild, much of the snow melted.
8, J.Clark breakfasted here- Let Caslow have a Jowl. Uncle E.Taylor dined here- he paid me £4.14.0 for Certificates let him have last June- After dinne J.Pendleton came & staid till sunset.
9, [Sunday] Went with G.Taylor to Maj'r Moore's, who was from home. G.T. went from thence to Uncle Taylor's & dined & came by J.Taylor's, where I dined- J.Taylor went to Bledsoe's meeting but got home before we came away- Rob't Taylor & family got home last night. Windy, dry weather, flying clouds.
