Ther. 68 THURS. JULY 13th, 1893 Wind

Much warmer. & a "muggy"
close feeling. after the sun came
out it was very hot except in
the shade. I drove down to
B Owen Hardy's to prescribe
for his infant son. called at Chas:
Stabler's prescribed for both
him & his daughter "Mariana".
Willie went with me. After-
noon Willie drove "Frank" to Edwd
Peirce's & home about "dusk."
We set out 89 cabbage plants that
I brought home from Riverside yester-
day. There was every appearance
of a Rain storm towards even-
ing, but it only gave us a strong
"blow" from N.W. with a few drops
of Rain. Rachael Cash washed
for H.

Ther. 70o FRI. JULY 14th, 1893 Variable Wind

Last night was the "hottest" we
have had this summer. I could
not sleep. & about 3_30 this a.m.
we had a thunder gust. Willie
started for "Lincoln" Va via Roc-
ville. Phil taking him in the
phaeton with "Frank". they left
here at 6_30 a.m. I was sent
for to go to prescribe for RR
Moore Jrs infant daughter. &
borrowed J Hendersons horse
& "buck board". I drove over
before dinner. going to Ashton
first for some "chalk mixture.
Afternoon it was very "close" &
hot & threatened storm until
after dark when it came up from
West & S.W. & gave us an old fashion-
ed "thunder gust:" Not much wind,
but heavy Rain & considerable
thunder & lightning, lasting
until bed time.
