AUGUST, WEDNESDAY 24th 1887.

Ned Hill was here early in
morning for advice etc. also
a traveling agent for the sale
of a cleaning compound for
window glass silver ware etc.
Charley started early for Rockville
with Mr Grimes to
leave him there & go to Elton
to spend the night. I went to
Geo Matt Bell's & found his infant
so ill that they thought it dead
but it revived for a time &
I went again towards sun down
but have no hope of its recovery
Willie went to Elton in the
"wheel" afternoon to spend the
night. I rode over to "Kitty
Dorsey's" to prescribe for a
child of Louisa Well's who
is visiting them from N. Jersey
Tom Budds grandson "Sam brought
Edwd a pair of pigeons & I paid
him 25 cts. for them.

AUGUST, THURSDAY 25th 1887.

The wind commenced blowing
quite strong from N. W. last
night about 10.o'clock and has
continued all day, making it
so cool that we have to put the
window sash down & put on
thick coats. G M Bells infant
daughter died last night. I
rode down there this morning
and drove to Ashton for some
medicines etc. and to see Fanny
again, who is much better.
I also called again to see
M L Roberts who is convalesing
drove over to Kitty Dorseys to
see Louisa Well's child again
W went with me & took Dora's
shoes to R Blairs. Susan Davis
was here for advice & medicine
W came home soon after break
fast from Elton. After tea I took
Harriet over to call upon sister
Beulah since her return from
Lawrence etc. we met Edwd Kummer
& wife there, having intended
calling upon them at "Homewood."
W went to "Wat" Bowies with Ed. Gilpin to a dance
