Types 280 title. Very large Gothic tyep used from 1496 onwards
[inserted] takes the place fo 150
about 1495, whence used continuously to
the end of period. Both straignt + round
footed r, b with small round loop. [end inserted]
145 title - title, heatline + c. (P17) Tail of h level with [crossed out] below [end crossed out] the line.
89 text - large Roman type, 1st used in Terance in 1496,
in use at end of period.
64b notes - smaller Roman tyep, 1st used in Terence in 1496,
in use at end of period
48 - point-letters - very small text type, used for index
letters only.
Space left for capitals at the beginning of each ode +
of the notes there to. The headlines give the title +
number of the books + c. Above the colophon is the
Gruninger device. with numerous woodcuts, mostly in sections.

J. Locher was also known by the name of Philomusus,
the name appearing in the prefatory matter of this volume.
Locher was born in 1471 in Echingen + died in
Ingoldstadton 4 Dec. 1528. In addition to writing
commentaries, Locher also composed Latin poems.
- Printer's device + 166 woodcuts, including 8 integral cuts
(5 bloack, 3 repeats), an author portrait of 3 moveable
segments used 10 times in various combinations + 148
other composite woodcut scenes made up of varying
combinations of (usually 475) moveable pieces.
