Ald Adams brought up the petition of Messrs Heid
Brothers asking for a refund of transient traders license
paid by them May 26th 1884. Referred to the Committee on
Finance, &c

Ald Little brought up the petition of Thomas
Maloney praying that the Council will compensate him
for the loss of his horse caused by alleged breach of duty
of the Corporation. Referred to the Committee on Streets &c

Ald Whiting brought up the petition of John
G Campbell & Son praying that no increase be made
in their assessment. Referred to the Committee on
Finance &c

Ald McKelvey brought up the petition of John
Brokenshire and others praying for a drain on
Herchmer street. Referred to the Committee on
Streets

Ald Clements from the Committee on Finance
and accounts brought up a Report (Number 367
Book E)
which was read.

Ald Clements moves seconded by Ald Harty
That the report on Finance be received and
adopted

In amendment 1st
Ald McDermott moves seconded by Ald Little
That that portion of the report of the Finance
Committee report relating to Mr Holmes be amended
by giving him the full amount.

In amendment 2nd
Ald Thompson moves seconded by Ald Birmingham
That the report of Finance and Accounts be amended
as to that portion recommending the return to Mr Holmes
of the sum of Thirty dollars be struck out. The first
amendment being put was lost
