Ordered, That the Committees on Fire, Water and
Gas and City Property be empowered to negotiate an
exchange of the Fire Hall for the Forsythe lot and submit
the matter for the approval of this Council.

On motion the Council adjourned.

A meeting of the Council of the Corporation of the City
of Kingston was held this day. Prsent

Gildersleeve, Harty, Irwin, Little, McDermott,
McKelvey, O'Brien, Redden, Robinson, Shannon,
Thompson, Whiting, J Wilson

The Clerk read the minutes of the last meeting

A Communication from Messrs Macdonnell and Mudie
was read relative to exemption of taxation in Car Works.
Referred to the Finance Committee.

A Communication from Miss B Dickson were read
making application for the use of Ontario Hall for the
Kingston School of Art from the 1st October and ending first
day of June next.

On motion of Ald Gildersleeve seconded by Ald Redden
Ordered, That the use of the Ontario Hall be
granted to the Kingston Art School at the rate of Ten
dollars per month for the period from the 1st October instant
to 1st June next, all charges for lighting, heating and
attendance to be borne by the School, the City Council to
have the right to use the room for temporary entertainments.

Petitions from Peter McGlade, John Brokenshire, H.
Mowat, John Page, John McKelvey, John McMillan, Hotel Dieu,
Miss L Gildersleeve, J Carruthers, FH Fraser, Miss J Herchmer, John
Saunders and Rev M Plus respecting taxes were submitted
to the Council and referred to teh Court of Revision

A Communication from Patrick Clint was read protesting
against the removal of a piece of timber which marks the
line between his property and that of the Grand Trunk
Railway at the foot of Johnson street. Referred to the Committee
on Streets.

A Communication from James Richardson was read
