On motion of Ald Snook seconded by Ald Gaskin
Ordered, That the communication of the Chief Engineer
of the Fire Brigade be referred to the Committee on Fire Water
and Gas to report.

A communication from George A Kirkpatrick Esquire, Secretary
Board of Trustees Collegiate Institute was read asking for a grant
of $2000 for the general purposes of the School for the present year.

On motion of Ald Pense seconded by Ald Doran
Ordered, That the communication of the Collegiate Institute
Board be referred to the Committee on Schools to report

A communication from James R Burke was read asking
to have an amount charged against him as agent on the collectors
roll for three vacant houses on Cataraqui Ward transferred
against the property

On motion of Ald Harty seconded by Ald Maloney
Ordered That the Communication of Mr James R Burke
be referred to the Court of Revision

Ald Allen brought up the petition of Robert V Matthews respecting
frontage

On motion of Ald Allen seconded by Ald Anglin
Ordered, That the petition of Robert V Matthews be referred
to the Committee on Streets to report

Ald Clements brought up the petition of Pierce Browne
praying for a remission of rent of the City Hall on the
occasion of a charitable assembly.

On motion of Ald Clements seconded by Ald Pense
Ordered, That Pierce Browne be granted the
amount paid viz: $17.25 less Gas in lieu of the rent
for City Hall also the Committee of the Young Mens
Christian Association

Ald McMahon brought up the petion of Samuel
Harkness praying for a rebate on Butchers License paid
in 1879

On motion of Ald McMahon seconded by Ald Snook
Ordered, That the petition of Samuel Harkness
be referred to the Committee on Licenses to report.

Aldmn Allen and McRossie brought up the petitons
of William Hall and William Tyner respecting taxes.

On motion of Ald McRossie seconded by Ald Doran
Ordered, That the petition ofWilliam Tyner and others
in reference to taxes be referred to the Court of Revision

Ald McGuire brought up the petition of William Davis
and 41 others. LIcensed Victuallers praying for a reduction
on the amount to be paid for their licenses.

On motion of Ald McGuire seconded by Ald Snook
Ordered, That the petition of WIlliam Davis and
others be referred to the License Committee to report

Ald Fee brought up the petiton of James McCammon
lessee
