Butterscotch Pie

1/2 c. sugar, browned, add butter 1 tbs.
2 egg yolks, well beaten
1 c milk added to yolks.
Pour over sugar.
When melted add 1 1/2 tbsp cornstarch
1 tb vanilla

Chilli Sauce

4 qts ripe tomatoes
1 pt onion
chop.
1/2 teacup salt
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 1/2 tb. cinnamon 1 1/2 cloves, nutmeg
+ ginger.
Scant teaspoon red or cayene pepper.
1 1/2 pts vinegar.
boil 3 hrs.

Mothers) Caramel Icing
2 c. sugar 1/3 c. vinegar. 1/3 c water
1 tbsp butter. Boil till thick add vanilla
+ beat until creamy.
