Crab Apple Pickle
Prepare fruit as for
preserving. To 7 pounds
of fruit add 3 lbs
sugar, 1 1/2 pint vinegar
1 1/2 pint water, 1 ounce
cinnamon, cloves
and mace. Put
all together in kettle
cook apples until
you can pierce
with straw remove
fruit and cook
syrup until thick.
