Blowing furiously from the East so had to
stay inside. Started a sled-raft couvering
by taking lengths of our heavy sail canvass and
sewing them together, two stitches on each seam
with sewing machine and one by hand. The
finished couver will be about 9 x 16. The
seamstress
complains of a head ache and when

Still blowing fairly hard. Maurer & Crawford went to
open water about a mile S. W. of here and they said
the whole Ocean was open. They stayed till nearly dark,
but saw nothing. Galle cleaned out the dog house
and I nearly finished the raft-couver. The seam-
stress
is doing fairly well today. Strong breeze from
the East. Cloudy & drifting.
