11th May 1860 We cut Spayed & marked at aspen Grove yesterday & day before, my old Bull & 1 Calf. Mr Roach Cut Tom mule Cothran spayed 4 shoats & cut 1 Boar Marked all, Cut & marked Mr Bybee altered calf for me 8 Rams lambs Ewe Lambs

12. 7 not Cut,- cloudy damp weather Mrs Hunt Jaw hurts very much

12th Mrs Hunt did not rest well last night Weeding & Plowing Corn in fresh ground Sent Bob for Doct Thompson to see Mrs Hunt he came. - We Planted a little Tobacco last Thursday I went to meeting yesterday SS. Not many person about 5 or 6 members.

13th Mrs Hunt still very much compla[in]ing

14th Coltering in new ground & replanting Corn next to Capt Whiteheads, Nannie & myself went over to Mrs Hunts place & arrange for the sale of his property in the House

15th scattering Manure Plowing lot Replanting Corn, & Hilling in new ground Mr. Faris came here to do some little work yesterday Monday a little before 12 Oclock. & this morning Tuesday he is at work @ $1½ pr day sold 2 Hdds Tobacco sold by Clark & []

Mr Rucker & another gentleman stay in all in Novr. 1859 & several others since, last night the 22nd Jany 18

Stranger stayed here table cloth Pedlar in first week in Jany - Jany 22nd 2 Pedlar stayed named [Hail?] & Mclancey all night here this night One had no money & we had to take some of her goods that cared not to get

Mr Jones & [Ecchols?] stayed all night here in June from Lynchg. also a man came here called himself Majr. Lee [He?] & when I came home could not pay his Bill. He [is?] went off. stayed 3 days & then returned & paid his Bill & took his Bundle.

Mr Jones & another man from Lynchg. here in July 1st Mr Richard Jones stayed with us 22nd July 59

Mrs Street & her Brother stayed here all night

Mr Noel 2 Children & 1 negro man carriage in July 1859

Mr Dodson & son stayed all night in Augt.

Mr Lipscomb from Campbell stayed all night in Augt. 1859

Augt. 11th Watson stayed all night -- -- Isaac Overby stayed here same night

Octr 18 Several has stayed here all night S[un?]

Augt a man by the name of Daynes.

Decr A man stayed here last night by the name of Roff with St Vitus's - Dance had a hog a Rabbit & monkey to show tho he was the greatest show himself.

23 Mr Simpson stayed all night.

1859 March 10. Jacob P Graves set in work for me this morning, Plowing.

11th. At work very well

12 At work, 13th went to meeting did not come home rode mr Moses horse & kept him till Monday morning & then went off again

14 Gone again with Mr Moses.

17th. Jacob returned last night all dissatisfied & this morning doing nothing, -

March 22nd He has concluded again to go to work. done but Little on Saturday. On acct of weather yesterday 21st he help work. last night he went to set up with [Dort?] Johns who is very [Gorv.?], doing nothing for...

23 & 24 been at Johns, &tc &tc -

25 at work to day. 26th at work but [dipatied & dont stick close?]

27th at Bro Hunts place, 2 nights & Sunday

28th Came home about One Hour by Sun & Went to Plowing for Corn On fur Branch.

29th Jacob went to Bro Hunts place last night after supper has not come back, returned & rode up to Cape Dillards & in about lost the day. went where they are at work one or 2 Hours. [be Gun?] just trimed 2 or 3 Tree

30th Went to Plowing this morning 1 1/2 hours [by Gun?]

31st Plowed to day - tolerable, -

April 1st done nothing 2nd Aprl Do. in - Running everything here : Jacob stop working for me & been from home 3rd Jacob has done nothing of any consequence since - the 11 & 12th March & not best for days the [...] & he orders beats the negroes & stops them from [th...] & seems to want to Rule me & I told him this about it & he told me him & me [[never?] ...] agree & I told him then we We [ha...] & not be disagreeing all [ ...] not work but Grumbling & [thr...] he Bundled up[...]

Sept 27 Sent Lard Twice this Summer & Bacon several times to Cedar Hill

Number of times sent for Doct J C. Thompson since 1st Jany 1857 Setttled up to that time & Rect given -

July 1st 1857 He has been 2 times to see Henry & I think he came to Jerry Smith once making I think 3 times to this day this year.

1858 Feby 9 come to see Pal, this & look for him again this 10 -- came making 2 times.

1859 March 30 Doct Thompson has been 3 times to see Lila - at this place Cedar Hill got some Calomel (& Pills for Rhoda) & some Cal[iamed?] Magnesia

April 14th went at night to see Kelly at Aspen Grove.

Been Once to see Sandys foot when[smelled?]

Oct 1859 came to see me once this month & Once in Decr or Novr. I wrote to him to go to Nancy Lewis's wife at Wallers.

Memorandum of days [Hounlains?] worked here beginning on The 25th Aug Monday 1856 1856 Saturday Aug. 30th. Worked every day This week Come Monday about 9. it rained on [?] his days a little making I think about 5 1/2 days $18 per hour 5 1/2 days getting [?] all the [work?]
