Cool. Played croquet
before dinner.

FRIDAY, 23
Fine cool day. Mr Schieger
come again. The Gov & Routh
off to Bothwell & back late
at night. Letters from
Fanty. All well.

Hot day. 90 in shade in
afternoon. Left Gov's card
at Artillery mess.

SUNDAY, 25
Rainy during day. Went
to evening service with Co. Flo.
Alick & Crawford. Heavy
rain at night. Swim in
the river with Alick &
Crawford in afternoon.

MONDAY, 26.
Heavy rain in morning
Left for Chatham by 7 a.m. train
on "ile" business & came back here
at 3.40 p.m. train. After
office played croquet. The Carvill
girls here. Crawford to dinner. Walked
home with the Carvills, Princess
taken in
from pasture & big mare put out.
